Chelsea took the lead in the 41st minute with a goal from French striker Loic Remy who replaced suspended Diego Costa.

Moments later, just before half time, City equalised after Mourinho’s side failed to deal with Jesus Navas’ cross effectively. Aguero volleyed towards the home teams goal before David Silva stretched to convert the ball into the back of the net.

John Carver enjoyed his first win as Toon boss on the weekend after Newcastle United managed to secure a 3-0 win over Hull City. The opening goal came in the 40th minute from Remy Cabella, Sammy Ameobi doubled the black and whites lead five minutes into the second half and Yoan Gouffran increased the lead further after his deflected strike beat Allan McGregor.
