Results Day Fire

21 August 2015

By Lauren E. White

As students collected their GCSE results around the country yesterday, one school in particular had even more stress to deal with after a fire broke out at a school in West Yorkshire.

Around fifty firefighters were on hand to tackle the blaze that engulfed half of the building along with ten fire engines on site. Residents in the local area were told to keep their windows and doors closed and advised to stay indoors.

No one was hurt in the blaze at The Freeston Academy and GCSE students were still able to collect their GCSE results from the school’s sports centre which was unaffected.
