After a near three-year dispute, Paul Walker’s daughter has reached a $10.1m (£7.2) settlement with the estate of the man driving the Porsche Carrera GT in which he and the actor died.

Travelling at over 80mph, the car spun off the road and crashed into trees and a utility pole in Santa Clarita in north west LA.

The outcry in 2013 was phenomenal, with literally hundreds of Facebook pages popping up and paying respects to the deceased Fast and Furious star.

Rodas, the other man in the car, was only partly responsible for the crash, a statement from Meadow’s Lawyer, Jeff Milam said.

The settlement represents what has been described as a “fraction of what her father would have earned as an international movie star had his life not been tragically cut short.”

The estate has yet to make a comment.

The settlement was said to have been agreed in 2014, but went unnoticed due to it being filed under the name Meadow W, TMZ reported.

Meadow’s lawsuit against Porsche AG is still ongoing.

Milam has said that Porsche is “responsible for producing a vehicle that was defective and caused Paul Walker’s death.”

This is despite the fact that, in late 2015, it was proven by LA investigators that it was not a malfunction with the car, but it was excessive speed that caused the crash. She is accusing the manufacturers of skimping on safety features that could have prevented the crash.

In rebuttal, I have this to say.

Cars have brakes.

There’s your safety measure.

Yes, it’s tragic that two lives were lost. However, this happened three years ago nearly. Blaming the car is not only a futile attempt to make the people involved look less to blame, but uncalled for. The car wasn’t to blame.

The speed at which they were going, and the driver were.
