Social Media Vs Real Life

BBC’s Newsbeat conducted an exclusive online poll for 15 to 18 year olds based around their online behaviour. 1,015 British teenagers participated in the poll which asked questions about their encounters with social media.

Results showed that one in three teens admitted to meeting up with their social media friends in real life. 25% said they feel happier online than in real life, while a shocking 25% said that they think they’re addicted to social media, with 10% saying that their online friends know them better than friends they have face to face contact with.

According to the survey, Facebook is the most popular social network with 89%  saying they have an active account, followed by Twitter with 62% and Snapchat with 58% having active accounts.
