After literal months of waiting and Tumblr having a bit of a meltdown, we finally have her.
Sombra.
The 30-year-old character has hacking abilities and an Uzi. She’s fast, and luminous purple and I’m a little bit in love with her. In her animated short reveal, it was shown that she was involved with Reaper and Widowmaker, before betraying them after interrogating a Russian politician.
It is then revealed she has a possible connection to Zarya, the Russian tank hero.
Sombra’s introduction comes just before the scheduled free weekend that starts on the 18th of November.
The 1.5 patch also changed a few things.
The changes are:
- Some Ultimates now cost 25% more to activate, including Mei’s Ultimate which actually costs a further 15%.
- Sombra – A new offense hero, she has an EMP and can destroy enemy shields and barriers with an electromagnetic energy field, and she has a teleporter so she can move in and out of combat at the press of a button.
- New Arena Map – Ecopoint: Antarctica
- Arcade Mode – This new setting contains a few mini-games, including 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 skirmishes, and alternating rules that wouldn’t quite fit into Quickplay or Competitive.
- Season 3 of Competitive Play.
Also, changes to Pharah have been made, making it so she can constantly stay airborne.
