Well, this is unexpected, as Sony and Marvel team up for an animated look at a new take on Spider-Man.

He began his life in The Ultimate Spider-Man comic series which started a few years ago. Miles becomes the new Spider-Man as Peter Parker is now an older bloke. He has since crossed into several other storylines and is now being brought to life through the power of animation.

It’s incredibly stylish and will follow the Spiderverse storylines, in which there are at least a dozen different version of Spider-Man in some form. A fan favourite being Spider-Gwen.

The animation looks slick and different to your standard flat palette colours. Everything pops, with injections of comic book flair all about the place.

The YouTube description explains that Parker and Miles will team up to “bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind.”

“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.”
I cannot express how cool this looks.

They got the groundbreaking part right. The pace and energy of the trailer look perfect for this kind of story. This might be a winner.

It will hit cinemas a year from now and will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. The duo previously helmed The Lego Movie (which was great) and 21 Jump Street (which was kind of good).

I’m into it.
