Rapper Stormzy has apologised for a series of homophobic tweets he made when he was younger, as people continue to dig up people’s Twitter skeletons. He isn’t the first to be under scrutiny as Zoella was recently under fire for the same reasons.

He said that the words he used were at a time ‘when I was young and ignorant’. The posts were from 2011 to 2014, which have been deleted now, used terms that were offensive to the gay community.

He told his followers that he regrets the tweets and they were ‘attitudes I’ve felt in the past’. The posts were first brought to light by the LGBT outlet, Pink News. The artists admitted the comments were ‘unacceptable and disgusting’.

Last week, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here contestant Jack Maynard was axed from the show due to homophobic tweets he had made also. The tweets were published in The Sun; however, he assures people that he is ashamed of what he said.
