Forget Demogorgons and alternate dimensions, the Stranger Things cast have bigger problems to worry about after Charlie Heaton was denied entry into the US on Saturday.

The actor, who plays Jonathan Byers, was found with a “very small amount” of powder in his luggage which turned out to be cocaine while on his way to the high profile Stranger Things 2 premiere party in Los Angeles.

He was sussed out by sniffer dogs at LAX airport and confessed to possessing it for personal use.

Because of the amount of cocaine being so small, he was sent back to the UK rather than detained and charged for drug possession in the US.

However, this is definitely not the end of it as it is unclear whether Heaton will be allowed to return to the US.

US Customs and Border Protection has the right to permanently ban foreign nationals if they commit a drug-related offence.

This situation could definitely put a spanner in the works for season 3 of Stranger Things. Netflix may have to find a new Jonathon Byers, not include the character in the next season or shoot the series somewhere outside of the US if he is not allowed to return.
