Morrissey Defends Spacey

If you needed any more proof as to whether the guy is a tool or not, this may be it.
In an interview with Germany’s Der Spiegel newspaper, the 58-year-old, former Smiths frontman started off by saying ‘rape is disgusting [and] every physical attack is repugnant’. Going on from this, he then appears to be an apologist for probably two of the most predatory men in Hollywood it would seem.
Last month, actor Anthony Rapp accused Kevin Spacey of harassing him when he was only 14.

Above you’ll see his pitiful excuse as to whether or not he did it. Also, he chose that moment to come out. So yeah, way to ruin a career. Not by coming out but by linking an alleged attack on a male actor to coming out. Doesn’t look great, does it?
Morrissey said in the paper that the claims ‘did not sound very credible to me’. Rapp told Buzzfeed that Spacey, who would have been 26 at the time, tried to ‘seduce’ Rapp at a party in his home. Morrissey then went on to basically blame the victim:
‘I don’t know about you, but I was never in situations like this in my youth. Never. I was always aware of what could happen. When you are in somebody’s bedroom, you have to be aware of where that can lead to.’
Oh yeah, because whenever I go into someone’s bedroom I’m always extra cautious just in case I become assaulted by anyone, not that it’s their fault or anything, but now. The onus would fall on me there for simply being in a bedroom.

It is never the victim’s fault for being in that situation. While there are times things can be avoided, the blame should never be shifted to the victim. The predator, in this case, Spacey, should feel like an ass and should be left to burn as he watches the rest of his career melt around him. Because for 30 years Rapp had to live with this.

Hollywood is revealing more and more of its true face with each allegation that comes out and its men like this who would rather see that true face stay hidden.
