If you love a good chick flick, but you’re sick of the same old storyline, Girls Trip is the one for you.

Ryan, Sasha, Lisa and Dina are old friends who refer to themselves as the Flossy Posse (a group of show-offs). Though the foursome has lost touch over the last few years, they decide to rekindle their friendship on a once in a lifetime trip to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival.

It’s set to be a wild one.

With the main plot of the film focused on Ryan (Regina Hall), a bestselling self-help author renowned for spreading the message that ‘you can have it all,’ you may be wondering what exactly sets this film aside from any other. A strong, independent female who seems to live the perfect life, but is actually struggling to get by. Typical for any chick flick, right?

Well, that’s until you meet the rest of the girls.

There’s Lisa, a reserved mother of two who has been out of the dating game for years. Yet, with a little convincing from the rest of the Posse, she’s soon back at it and one of the first to find herself a man – and it’s not romance she’s looking for either!

Then, there’s Dina, the straight-talking one who isn’t afraid to get what she wants. Whether she’s up on the dance floor shaking all she’s got, or downing a drink or two, she’s certainly the centre of attention and the one who’ll provide you with the most laughs.

Finally, there’s Sasha, a failed journalist turned gossip blogger who is struggling to make a living. But, with a big secret that Ryan’s desperate to hide, will she turn against her friend to get back on track?

Girls Trip is full of ups and downs, laughs and tears, and everything else you could possibly imagine, but through it all, you’ll be wondering just why nobody created such an incredible film sooner. Within no time, you’ll be fully immersed in the storyline and having so much fun that you may even decide to book a trip for yourself and the girls too.

If that didn’t convince you, this trailer should.

It’s raunchy and ridiculous, but you’ll be laughing throughout.
