Teenager Suspended for Asking Miss America to His Prom

A teenager from a high school in Pennsylvania, Patrick Farves, has been suspended for asking Miss America, Nina Davuluri to the prom. He received 3 days of suspension after he stood up during a question and answer session asked her. She was at the school discussing the importance of  STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths) and diversity. She took the situation in good fun, as he walked onto the stage with a plastic flower. The school, however, was less amused and Farves has since apologised to the school for disrupting the assembly. School officials knew about his plan before hand, and tried to warn him not to carry it out.
