The Cost of the Premier League

The Premier League have received a new record of £5.136bn after they sold television rights for live viewing to Sky and BT, a staggering 71% increase in the last three years

Sky paid £4.2bn for five out of seven packages on offer which is 83% more than last time around. BT paid £960m for the other two packages, an 18% increase on last years figures and will now be shown 42 matches a year, compare to the 38 last year.

Sky will be paying £11.07m per game and BT will be paying £7.6m for the 168 games which will be viewed live throughout the seasons, 126 games on Sky and 42 on BT.
