The Defenders Confirmed for August 2017

Marvel has announced that The Defenders, the show that will combine all of the Netflix Marvel heroes and mash them into one series, will be coming this August. We knew it was in the works but the show has officially been confirmed for 18th August.

The show will see returning stars Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter and Finn Jones as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist respectively.

The clip, released by Marvel Entertainment’s YouTube channel, shows our four heroes in an elevator, with a rather out of breath Iron Fist, and ends with Jessica Jones punching out the camera.

It’s not much to go on, but it’s good to see our favourite New York heroes banding together. Sigourney Weaver will play the show’s villain, Alexandra. When interviewed, the show runner, Marco Ramirez, said Sigourney was the perfect fit for the role, claiming she could be “the smartest person in the room, who you could also buy as a person holding a flamethrower”

Details are very under wraps, so I guess we’ll have to watch it when it comes out to see. Hopefully, it’ll be pretty darn cool.

We look forward to the banter between the heroes, and Jessica Jones threatening to beat the hell out of Daredevil if he whines ONCE.
