The New John Lewis Advert is Weird

Like every year, the department store comes out with a new advert to get us in the Christmas buying spirit. This year, however, it seems to have divided opinion.

The advert focuses on a young boy being afraid of, then befriending the monster under his bed. But, due to him staying up all night, he keeps falling asleep during the day. The monster then buys him a nightlight, so he can fall asleep and the monster goes away?

It’s a bit weird and not as well executed as previous years.

Also, it’s only November.

Despite this fact, however, M&S also released their advert a few days ago, depicting a rather famous bear. It shows Paddington inadvertently helping a robber(?) deliver presents and I’m assuming the robber changes his ways?

I have no idea.
