The Real Pride of Britain

Celebrities at last night’s Pride of Britain awards helped teenage cancer hero Stephen Sutton’s fund smash the £5 million mark.

Sutton, who was recognised in the UK after he set up his own fund for teenage cancer patients, passed away in May this year. The 19-year-old’s original goal was to raise a total of £10,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity along with a bucket list of 46 tasks he wanted to take part in before he lost his battle with the disease.

A total of £4.97m was taken to the ceremony last night and with the help of Strictly members and Union J carrying donation buckets around guests. The funds collected during the evening currently stand at over £50,000 – propelling it straight through the £5m mark.

It’s safe to say that Stephen’s determination, bravery and example he set to all of us makes him the real pride of Britain. A true inspiration to everyone.
