With the year drawing to a close, so too must our critique of this year’s games. One game in particular took home the gold (literally), and quite unsurprisingly, it’s ‘The Witcher 3’.

‘The Witcher 3’ is the most recent addition to Geralt’s story, a sprawling open world game, with hundreds of hours of gameplay. But while there may be a lot of stigma around open world games at the moment, you cannot help but love ‘The Witcher’. From the fantastic story, to the characters, and the gorgeous world they’ve created. Seriously, if you haven’t picked up the game yet, DO SO. Or rather, play the first two games to understand what the heck is going on. The game won ‘Ultimate Game of the Year’, ‘Best Storytelling’, ‘Best Visual Design’ and ‘Best Gaming Moment’.

CD Projekt Red, the studio behind the masterpiece, managed to scoop up studio of the year award also.

So yes, it all looks good for Projekt Red, and in all honesty, they deserve every award they got. ‘The Witcher’ games (albeit with some weird controls) are amazing. They delivered everything they promised, with little to no problems on release. So yes, bravo.

At least ‘Destiny’ didn’t swipe anything away from the games that deserved it.

Oh and PewDiePie won best YouTube personality. For some reason.
