The X Factor Flops Once Again

There is no doubt that The X Factor has made some huge changes this year, from the judging panel to the style of acts that are broadcasted and even a reduction in the number of live shows that will be aired. After clashing with Strictly Come Dancing in the recent years, and a huge reduction in the amount of viewers that tune in every week, it is clear that they are desperately in need of attracting more viewers.

The newly revamped panel consists of Simon Cowell (of course), Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (the familiar face that they may just need to win the public over) and two completely new judges – Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora. They are also joined by Caroline Flack and Olly Murs, who have moved over from The Xtra Factor.

Another new edition to the show is the ability for the public to vote on and decide who gets which group for the first time ever. Before the news was aired, we learned via Twitter that Simon had been given the Over-25s once again, which he is likely to be disappointed about, and Cheryl has the groups. That leaves Nick with the boys and Rita with the girls.

This drastic change does seem to have improved the show slightly, with many viewers tweeting about their love for the popular newbies, and the excitement at having some involvement with the show. However, it doesn’t appear to have gone as well as expected, as in the past couple of weekends, fewer people have been tuning in – with a huge drop of a million viewers on the first Sunday evening.

As the live shows won’t be starting until a much later date, towards the end of October, this could cause the ratings to go one way or another. The future of The X Factor could be down to you – is it worth watching any more?
