If you’re anything like us, you’ve probably got about a million apps downloaded on your phone – some are the typical few, such as Facebook or Twitter, and others you download during crazes and then get bored of. Well, we’re going to go against this expectation for which apps should be downloaded, and give you five apps that may not be the most popular at the moment but are certainly great.

  • WordBrain – this is the perfect app for anyone that likes puzzles, and likes to get their brain working. All you have to do is effectively solve an anagram, but with multiple words hidden in it, increasing and becoming more difficult the more you solve. If you get bored of this, you can even try WordBrain Themes, which mixes things up a little bit and gives something extra to think about.
  • JOEMOJI Keyboard – If you’re a follower of YouTubers, you’ll definitely like this one. Joe Sugg has brought out his own range of emojis, with a number of familiar icons included. Though it is 79p, so it depends on how frequently you’ll use it.
  • Sky Guru – This app is great for the nervous flyer. It tracks your flight in real time and gives you all of the information you could possibly need to help you remain calm, and talks to you as though you’re sat right next to a pilot. We’ve even given a round-up of it for you, we like it that much. However, it will cost a whopping £14.99, so it’s definitely only for those who suffer from serious aerophobia.
  • Arrow Ambush – This is another great game to play, and it’s free. It’s pretty simple too; all you have to do is shoot arrows at the target, avoiding other arrows. It’s pretty addictive.
  • Whitagram – If you’re a fan of Instagram, and you like to make your pictures perfect, Whitagram is ideal. It can add borders to your images, or even text and clip art. Your photos will be looking amazing in just a few clicks.
