Transformers Up for Razzy

2017 has been dubbed as the year of recycling according to the Razzies. Transformers is but one of the awful movies up for recognition.

According to the organisers of the awards ceremony, 87 of last years top 100 movies were ‘sequels, remakes, or rip-offs’. Most of them were nominated for Razzies, with Transformers: The Last Knight on the shortlist in every category except worst actress.

Vomit inducing, uninspired, unfunny garbage. There. There’s my review of The Emoji Movie.

The film is listed as Transformers XVII, to rip the mick out the fact that literally everything is a franchise.

The latest Transformers was the fifth in the series.

Among the nine nominations, we have worst actor, for Mark Wahlberg, worst director, Michael Bay and worst picture.

Other contenders for worst film include Baywatch, Fifty Shades Darker, The Mummy and The Emoji Movie. Zac Efron starred in Baywatch, which was also nominated for worst screenplay, along with Mother! starring Jennifer Lawrence.

In the worst screen combo category, we have last year’s disappointing Pirates movie, with the combo of ‘Johnny Depp and his worn out drunk routine’. Plus, Fifty Shades for ‘any combination of two characters or two sexual positions’.

Fifty Shades Darker is up for a Razzie. You don’t even want to know how bad this thing is.

This year’s ceremony will be held on 3rd March, with the awards being the ‘tackiest Tinsel Town trophies’.

The Razzies famously go for anyone they deem awful. Oscar nominees like Johnny Depp and Tom Cruise have received worst actor before. Sandra Bullock won worst actress for All About Steve literally a day before winning an Oscar for The Blind Side.

The star took the prize in good faith, however. She attended the ceremony and handed out copies of All About Steve to the audience.

My money’s on Pirates winning the combo. It was just terrible.
