Transgender Models ‘Strut’ Their Stuff

There have been rumours in the fashion world that world-famous actress Whoopi Goldberg has been secretly working to produce a new reality TV series. And, it has just come to light that the rumours are true! Goldberg has been hard at work helping to produce a new American television show for Oxygen which will be fashion-forward and – dare we say – ground-breaking!

The new television show, which will air in September, will be called ‘Strut’ and will follow and document the lives and careers of five transgender models. The announcement comes at a time when it seems that change is finally beginning to occur in the very elite and exclusive world of fashion with the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Gucci, and Burberry all deciding to merge men’s and women’s clothing lines into one show at fashion week, not to mention Caitlyn Jenner practically breaking the internet when she graced the cover of Vanity Fair.

Strut will be partnered with Slay Model Management, which happens to be the first exclusively trans model agency. The show will follow five ‘trans’ models and the hurdles they must overcome in forging a modelling career for themselves as well as their own personal challenges. In a press release, Goldberg commented: “It’s time to separate caricature from real people and that’s what we are doing with Strut.”

The official trailer for Strut has now been released for the general public to watch and introduces each of the cast members. There also happens to be one cast member with a very familiar face. You might remember Isis King as the first transgender finalist on world-famous modelling contest America’s Next Top Model. That’s right, Isis will be starring in the show – and we can’t wait to see what she’s been up to!
