Tunes Of The Week

8 February 2016

By Oisin

Our picks this week feature new artists, new sounds, electro-soul and electronica.

‘Singlewave’ – SONDAR

Brand new SONDAR’s debut single has garnered a lot of internet attention, gaining number one spot on Indie Shuffle. ‘Singlewave’ is interesting and constantly progresses: harmonies are added to ethereal vocals, and the track builds pace from the slow opening. ‘Singlewave’ ends with fragmented rhythms and glitzy effects, creating a unique sound. SONDAR are definitely worth keeping an eye on.

‘I need love’ – Noize Generation

Set for release on the 12th February, just in time for Valentine’s Day, Noize Generation have made the full track available to listen to on Soundcloud. Sounding like classic future house (if that makes sense), with bouncy synths and a pumping drumbeat, Noize Generation add distorted vocals to add their own flavour to the genre. Although it gets slightly repetitive, ‘I need love’ is definitely worth checking out, and should be a staple for any workout playlists.

‘We Are So Animal (feat. Belle)’ – KRONO

This track is full of chilled out vibes, reminiscent of the Filious’ remix of Ohio. Pretty vocals by Belle float over laid back instrumentation, resulting in a safe track which makes for a relaxing listen.

‘Falling’ – Opia.

This week has been Opia’s week. Coming from nothing, they have charted on Hypemachine at number 3, and accumulated over 111,000 Soundcloud plays. It is easy to see why from their debut track ‘Falling’. Similar to SONDAR, Opia have carved out their own sound, bringing a breath of fresh air to Soundcloud.
