Jess Glynne has topped the UK Singles Chart with her latest single ‘Hold My Hand.’

Despite reaching number one as a guest vocalist on Clean Bandits ‘Rather Be’ and Route 94’s ‘My Love’ this is the first time Jess has reached number one as a solo artist.  Jess held off James Bay’s ‘Hold Back the River’ to secure the top spot by selling 40,000 more copies than her rival.

Years and Years fell from top spot to number three with their track ‘King’ whilst last weeks number one Sam Smith and John Legend didn’t even reach the top five this week narrowly missing out to Ellie Goulding’s ‘Love Me Like You Do.’

UK Singles Chart Top 5:

1) ‘Hold my Hand’ – Jess Glynne

2) ‘Hold Back The River’ – James Bay

3) ‘King’ – Years and Years

4) ‘Four Five Seconds’ – Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney

5) ‘Love Me Like You Do’ – Ellie Goulding
