SPOILERS

Director M. Night Shyamalan is apparently building his own universe around his most popular films. He is finally making a sequel to Unbreakable, his sort of superhero film from way back in 2000, which will double as a sequel to Split, Shyamalan’s most recent success.

This comes after an ending scene in Split showed that the two films take place in the same universe.

Unbreakable was a really cool re-imagining of what it would be like if a person actually discovered they had superpowers. The story of a man who tries to deny his abilities, and a villain who wants to bring them to light: it made for an incredible movie.

In the ending scene for Split, we see Bruce Willis as David Dunn, the security guard from Unbreakable, talking about Mr. Glass, the film’s villain. James McAvoy played the movie’s main antagonist, who has multiple personalities, each of them different, and one of them is incredibly dangerous. His character is given the nickname ‘The Horde’ due to his multiple personalities.

Honestly? It sounds really cool. The film is already slated for a 2019 release, and is said to star McAvoy, Willis, and even a returning Samuel L. Jackson as Mr. Glass.
