“I feel it in the Earth…”

Way back when, in 2014, when I had no idea how to write, we mentioned Shadow of Mordor on our most-anticipated list of games.

The game revolved around a ranger who was stationed at the Black Gates when Sauron began to grow in power. Long story short: he dies, and is resurrected through being half possessed by the creator of the One Ring.

The game was fantastic. A strong story with lore connections, really decent enemy variety and a lot of cool abilities, with the only downside being the horrible boss fights at the end. What should have been a grand smack down between the main character and the big evil ended up being a quick time event.

But after this, we have a trailer and a bit of news on the next game to come from this IP, simply entitled Shadow of War.

The trailer can be seen here:

And showcases a few new characters, creatures, and a new plot too.

Celebrimbor, the wraith who possessed us in the first game, is whisked away by some dark force, after creating another ring of power, to challenge the Dark Lord who is regaining his armies in Mordor. While we don’t see any gameplay, we can expect an expanded Nemesis system, which made the first game so unique.

The orc captains you fight will remember you and even bear the scars from your battles with them.

Oh there’s also a $300 version. Which is a whole load of merch with some in-game stuff too.

But you know the deal, folks, don’t pre-order, yadda yadda.
