After what seems like a lifetime, Harvey Weinstein is expected to surrender to the New York police today, US media reports. He faces arrest following a grand jury investigation into the numerous allegations of sexual misconduct. Weinstein was dropped from his own company, which was later acquired by a majority female board.

It was after the tirade of accusations that the #MeToo campaign was made, along with dozens of other men in Hollywood being reprimanded for their misconduct. One of those happens to be Morgan Freeman.

Weinstein will be charged with numerous accounts of sexual harassment, not limited to verbal abuse, sexual assault and rape.

We doubt we’ll see anything from this particular company anytime soon.

Actresses from all corners of Hollywood came out to accuse the one profound producer. Kate Beckinsale, Lysette Anthony, Uma Thurman, Gwyneth Paltrow have all come out with their experiences of harassment in the industry, some at the hands of Weinstein himself.

The allegations have left his career in ruin, with his own company firing him and being expelled from the Oscars.

In a way, the 66-year-old started a movement that would see people of a similar nature be held accountable for their actions. #MeToo was a strong talking point of many award ceremonies at the beginning of the year.

It also began the Time’s Up movement, in which more than 300 actresses, writers and directors, raised $21 million (£15m) in just a month, to fund legal assistance for those who have had to suffer in silence
