#YEAR11PROBLEMS

Three things you should know before Thursday

It’s three days before D Day or, as it is more commonly known, GCSE results day. I know that results have already been covered on b**p and also in this column but this time there’s a brand new point of view.

1. Well done!

Regardless of what your results are, if you worked hard and gave it your all then you deserve a pat on the back. No matter how much sixth formers try, GCSEs are not a walk in the park and those exams in their multitude were rigorous and testing. That alone proves a lot about you.

2. It’s not the end of the world

So many people told me during my exams that it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I didn’t get the grades I wanted. In May I did not believe them but now (see last week’s column), I do. You have your A Levels, college course or apprenticeship to prove your ability – these results simply get you to the next stage of life. They matter, of course, but they aren’t the be-all and end-all.

3. There’s so much more out there

If you’ve done as well as you’d hoped, there’s a whole lot of world out there waiting. If you haven’t done as well as you’d hoped, there’s a whole lot of world out there waiting. If it doesn’t work out, that’s okay; you can make it work. There are many ways to achieve and many routes you can take to reach your desired destination – it’s not time to give up yet (that also goes for those who achieve above and beyond: don’t stop there!).

Good luck for Thursday. You’re fabulous no matter what.
