#YEAR13PROBLEMS

29 May 2018

By Lauren E. White

School is officially over

Way back when in Year 11, it felt like school was over. I mean, it was, but it wasn’t over in the same way it is now.

Now, none of us will ever go back into a classroom to be taught again. We’ll never be able to get back to where we grew up in the same way, and the whole of our lives up to this point will suddenly become a distant memory.

So now school is officially over, I feel like I should say a massive thank you to everyone who has helped make my secondary school experience as enlightening and as charcter building as it has been – and I mean that in the nicest possible way!

Leaving school, as told by HSM

Everyone who knows me knows that I enjoy school and I get bored of the summer holidays two weeks in. And that’s testament to the people at school who have made it so great for me. I’m not going to name names, because the special people know who they are. And your special people will know who they are too.

Since school is over, it’s probably time to look back at what it gave you besides an academic education. It gave you role models, your best friends and the ideas you’ll go into the next chapter holding dear.

So thank you school, and thank you to the teachers and friends who have made it a memory I’ll always enjoy looking back on.

(P.S. I’ll still see you next week- there’s a few columns left in the old girl yet!)
