You Are What You Wear

Honestly, I did not know this.

The British Chiropractic Association (BCA) has said women’s fashion choices are having a negative impact on their health.

Things like skinny jeans, hoodies, and even cross body bags are causing damage to back muscles and legs too. Chiropractor Tim Hutchful said that he is “always surprised” at how many of his patients don’t realise that clothing can impact their health and posture.

“Some of the most popular items of clothing can have a hidden health impact.”

But, let’s be honest, it’s not exactly a shocker, is it? We’ve been wearing things to look nice at the expense of our own personal health. But mostly it’s women who bear that cross. Because, you know, expectations of a patriarchal society and women needing to be stick thin and beautiful.

Things like corsets and heavy armour are a little out of fashion now. But we still wear things that bog us down. Heavy bags, super skinny jeans that restrict movement and blood flow, high-heeled shoes, and heavy baggy clothing.

We are what we wear, unfortunately.

It sounds dumb, but make sure your clothes fit comfortably, and for goodness’ sake, wash your underwear.

No one wants a yeast infection.

No one.

And try not to wear anything too ridiculous.
