People are stupid. They’re eating tide pods and YouTube isn’t too happy about that. Expect your video to be removed.

Tide is an American brand of laundry detergent, wrapped in plastic, which dissolves in the washing machine. It goes without saying that these pods are highly toxic and anyone who eats them is a moron.

YouTube has threatened channels with a strike, which will consist of three-month limited access to the site. The guidelines of the site prohibit content that promotes dangerous behaviour or activities.

Please don’t eat Tide pods. Just don’t.

‘We work to quickly remove flagged videos that violate our policies,’

In a statement, which shouldn’t need to be said, Procter & Gamble, who manufacture the pods stated:

‘Laundry pacs are made to clean clothes. Like all household cleaning products, they must be used properly and stored safely.’

People who swallow the pods could suffer seizures, pulmonary oedema (excess fluid in the lungs), breathing difficulties, coma, or even death.

The AAPCC (American Association of Poison Control Centres) says that the videos online have ‘caused significant concern among poison control centres.’

Anyone who’s caught promoting this drivel will be met with something like this.

‘The ‘laundry packet challenge’ is neither funny nor without serious health implications.’ says Stephen Kaminski of the AAPCC. Despite the Tide Pod challenge videoes initially spiking in popularity, many have flipped the formula, so to speak, to criticise these videos.

Seriously, even if it’s the meme, do not eat these things. Just don’t. It’s not funny, it doesn’t make you cool, it just makes you look like an idiot. And if you look up to any YouTubers who do this, then I would recommend stopping watching them.

As they may also be incredibly stupid.
