YouTuber TotalBiscuit Dies Age 33

Popular YouTuber and game critic John Bain, otherwise known as TotalBiscuit, had passed away at the age of 33, after a four-year fight with cancer. He was known for his no-nonsense approach to games, with a ‘love him or hate him’ personality.
Earlier this year, he stated he would be retiring, after the current therapies weren’t working anymore. He first contracted bowel cancer in 2014, putting up a video talking about the long road ahead of him. The disease went into remission in 2016-17 but returned and spread to his spine and liver.
On Reddit, in a lengthy post, he stated he did not ‘have long left’. He was going to do more streams with his wife Genna later this year.
Hundreds of people, all touched by TB in some way, have shared their support on Twitter. He did a weekly podcast with the likes of Jesse Cox and Dodger, both of whom are also very popular in the gaming YouTube space.
I'm terrible at goodbyes, John. You were my mentor, partner, and most importantly – friend. You always tried to act so serious, but were really a giant goofball. Getting you to show the world that was my constant goal and supreme joy. Thank you for being in my life @Totalbiscuit pic.twitter.com/4PqMAk9U3K

Thank you for supporting and cheering me on through so much. Thank you for pushing me to trust myself and be a stronger voice and thank you for being an incredible friend always.

TotalBiscuit was a massive name in things like StarCraft 2 and Hearthstone, two incredibly successful Blizzard games, who also sent their condolences to his wife.

TotalBiscuit will always be a pillar of gaming. He used to upload fun decks onto HearthPwn as a part of his "Lord of the Gimmicks" series of videos. Thank you for everything, John.

Even Notch, creator of Minecraft, who Bain often bumped horns with, tweeted:
Good night, you stubborn bastard. You are loved.

Sky Williams, a regular on the podcast, gave a rather funny and touching tribute to the Biscuit.
I’m not ready to face reality in the wake of @Totalbiscuit’s passing. he had brought so much greatness to the world. to us.
i decided to share some fun memories in an attempt to give those grieving a smile.
i just
wish time could slow down today

There are hundreds of people pouring out support in the wake of the news.
He was one of the good ones when it came to games journalism. While you may not have agreed with everything he said, he fought for the consumer. He fought for indie titles and even a Dark Souls PC port back in the day.
He was a local lad, growing up in the North of England and often visited Newcastle on his trips back home.
The guy has left some big boots to fill.
He will be missed.
