Parkas (coats) – Probably one of the most popular coats in 2013, they come in dark green, navy blue and more. The length of the coats are knee length or shorter. Parkas have been big sellers for wide range of shops this year. From Primark to Harrods to New Look, everyone has profited on the highly popular wardrobe essential.

 

Backpacks – They have become very popular in the past year, they come in patterns like flowers to Aztec.  Shops such as Accessorize to vans and Cath Kidston are all on board with the backpack craze.

 

Onsies– An all in one pyjama usually made from fleece. The most popular onsies are animal themes  such as pandas, zebras, gorillas and any other cute animal in between. You can also check out the character ones such as those from  Toy Story  like Woody and Buzz Lightyear, as well as Muppet star, Kermit the Frog.

Twerking – The word has been released into the online Oxford English Dictionary, which defines it as to  ‘dance to popular music in a sexually provocative manner involving thrusting hip movements and a low, squatting stance’. Recently Miley Cyrus gave a jaw dropping performance at the VMA’s ‘twerking’ with Robin Thicke, which social media in overdrive with billions of comments.

 

Joey Essex catchphrases – Joey Essex came joint 4th in I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here with Amy Willerton, winner of Miss Universe Great Britain 2013. His popular catch phrases included ‘There’s a dragon on the bridge’ – when really it was just a lizard.  And ‘I’ve never learnt how to blow my nose’ and ‘I’ve never learnt how to tell the time.’ Gotta love the guy.

Forever 21 – This popular US import has soared in popularity during 2013, with stores opening in London, Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool and Kent. The first store opened in California in 1984 and continued to dominate proving to be just as successful in Asia and Europe as it is in the US.

 

Baby Lips – They are made by Maybelline New York and come in eight different varieties, such as Hydrate, Intense Care, Mint Fresh, Peach Kiss, Cherry Me and Pink Punch. They hydrate your lips for 8 hours and have a hint of colour. The average price is about £2.99 and these handbag staples are available from Boots and Superdrug.

 

iPhone coloured glass back – From green to yellow, the coloured glass back is new trend in 2013 – available from amazon or eBay, they range from £4.00 to £30.00.

 

Celebrity Perfumes – From One Direction to Peter Andre to Beyoncé – most huge celebs have brought out their own signature fragrances over the years.

Beetle jewellery – Insect accessories are hot in 2013, with the Alexander McQueen collection ‘The Bees Knees’ being a big deal on catwalks around the world. Other items including creepy crawlies, butterflies, beetles and more spotted on the fashionistas amongst us.
