Marvel, having dominated the box office once again this year, is getting into podcasts it turns out, starring Wolverine. Mashable reported that Marvel will release a 10-episode series based around the popular X-Man. The project, titled Wolverine: The Long Night will premiere on Stitcher Premium in Spring 2018. It will then make its way to other podcast platforms later in 2018.

The story will follow two agents as they track a serial killer through Alaska. Obviously, the suspect is Wolverine. Logan will be voiced by The Hobbit’s Richard Armitage in the podcast. He will star alongside Scott Adsit, Bob Balaban and Brian Stokes.

This will be the first podcast of its kind, using the format to do True Detective style ‘narrative tricks’ according to writer Ben Percy.

‘If you look at the success of Serial and S-Town, it has everything to do I think with their investigative formats, the way the listeners become complicit in the narrative,’ he says. ‘They’re co-authors, they’re literary detectives, because they’re piecing together the clues alongside the reporters, and I wanted to take a similar approach to that.’

If the Wolverine series proved successful, then they might even do more with the idea. I think it’d be a good format for the lesser known heroes to get some air time. You ever heard of Moon Knight? He’s great. He’s just never in any films or other media apart from the comics.

Seriously, look at him.

But 10 episodes of my favourite Marvel hero in podcast form? Sign me up.
