1. She Said – Sundara Karma

Sundara Karma are the next biggest indie band to conquer the world with their unique sound. Reading born and bread, the foursome are sure enough destined for a success much like that of The 1975 or Arctic Monkeys. Taken from their debut album Youth is Only Ever Fun in Retrospect, ‘She Said’ is an upbeat blend of indie and pop and is the perfect song for dreaming of summer. With an unforgettable chorus that really will have you singing along, this song is a favourite for fans of the alternative genre, as well as those who are not. Sundara Karma recently accompanied Two Door Cinema Club on various dates of their UK tour, and are shortly heading off on their own tour.

2. The Isle of Arran – Loyle Carner

Loyle Carner is a British rapper who has put his own twist onto London rap and is most certainly defining a new wave of rap music. Carner has been working on his debut album for the past year, and has been dropping singles such as ‘No CD’ and ‘Tierney Terrace’ in the run-up to his release.  With hip hop influences and personal stories playing a large part in his music, Carner’s debut album has by no means disappointed his fans. ‘The Isle of Arran’ is a special place to the Croydon artist, as he reflects on his childhood and his family. With honest lyrics and a catchy tune, this song is a must-hear from his latest album. Loyle Carner’s songs often tell stories about his family, past experiences and childhood. As well as this, his honest demeanour makes him such a likeable guy.

3.Delete – DMA’s

DMA’s are an Australian band, new to the indie rock scene. With an EP release in 2015, their debut album ‘Hills End’ perfectly defined what this band is all about. Their individuality, yet likeness to indie rock bands such as ‘Happy Mondays’ and ‘Primal Scream’, are what helps this band make such a mark on the music scene of today.  This super chilled song is perfect for a lazy weekend. With ripples of 90s Mancunian rock, ‘Delete’ is the band’s most popular song, and it is most definitely obvious why. This song is a must-listen and will leave you wanting to hear so much more from the band. The Sydney-based trio have a promising future, and have racked up a few festival lineups this year already. The soothing sound of DMA’s will transport you to a summer road trip, and leave you desperate for a calm holiday.

4. Shape of You – Ed Sheeran

After what feels like forever, Ed Sheeran has finally released new music. Sheeran’s popular music has gained him some fans, and his rise to fame ever since the release of + in 2011 and x in 2014 has left fans wanting to hear more and more of his talent.  Ed Sheeran’s music is widely appreciated and the release of his two latest songs built up excitement amongst the media and his admirers. It has beat any expectations: ‘Shape of You’ and ‘Castle on The Hill’ were released prior to his album release, and are getting us excited for what tracks Divide will have to offer. If they are anything like his two latest releases, then we can sure expect great things. Out of the two, ‘Shape of You’ is more of an upbeat song than ‘Castle on The Hill’, which retells childhood tales, and of course has plenty of Ed Sheeran emotion behind it. ‘Shape of You’ is a party song for anyone. With its unbelievably catchy tune, there is no way you can avoid yourself singing along to this mega hit.

5. Common Things – Little Comets

Quirky and hip band ‘Little Comets’ have released another unforgettable melody. Hailing from the North East, this band have constantly been releasing beautiful and harmonious songs since their debut album release in 2011. ‘Bridge Burn’ and ‘Dancing Song’ remain a few of the band’s most popular songs, and ‘Common Things’ is looking to be another popular song for the band’s enthusiasts. As well as any other Little Comets song, ‘Common Things’ has a strong beat and equally catchy mix of words and sounds. What makes this band so lovable, and a favourite for any playlist, is their somewhat incoherent lyrics and the very unique voice of  frontman Robert Coles. They have a certain vibe about them that has been described as ‘kitchen sink indie’ by some critics. ‘Common Things’ is the first single released from their fifth studio album Worhead. It has the same alternative sound as Little Comets are famously known for, and is a reason to get excited about their album due for release on the 10th March 2017. ‘Common Things’ is the perfect good vibe song, and we cannot wait to see what the other positive happy tunes the band has to offer from their latest album available for pre-order now.
