A Diamond in the Rough

With the diamond being the game, and the rough being the pit that Day-Z and H1Z1 made.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, here’s the run down. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is taking Steam by the throat and showing Daybreak (the people behind H1Z1) how it’s done. It’s received rather hefty coverage over the last week or so; through YouTube and Twitch, it’s gained quite a following.

As a matter of fact, over 1 million people have bought the game as of yesterday, and it has a mostly positive rating on Steam. But, it is in Early Access, which means things like optimisation and hit boxes are a little bit janky, but the developers are completely aware of this.

It’s cool to see a game developer doing right by its players. Good on them.

Stay tuned for a review, possibly maybe.
