This amazing murder mystery thriller is written by British writer Holly Jackson. It is an extremely enjoyable read. If you love thrilling and exhilarating books that keep you up at night desperate to know what happens next, this book will be right up your street. What’s more, there are 2 other books in the series after A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder.

Plot

The book follows Pip, a straight-A sixth former. Five years ago in her small town, a seventeen-year-old girl called Andie Bell disappeared. A body was never found. Her boyfriend Sal Singh was later found dead in the woods. The police assumed that Sal had killed Andie before feeling guilty and killing himself. The case was closed.

Back to the present day and the protagonist Pip Fitz-Amobi decided to do her sixth-form project on the unsolved case. She introduces herself to Sal’s surviving brother Ravi. Together Pip and Ravi try to prove that Sal wasn’t the murderer. But, after digging deeper, Pip begins to receive notes from an anonymous person saying ‘Stop digging Pippa.’.

Ravi and Pip soon uncover some secrets that no one was meant to know and realise that they may be in real danger…

Opinion

Personally, I found the first few chapters a little slow. But after that, the book was like a thrilling roller coaster! It has many enjoyable characters (which I loved) and some extremely well-written antagonists (who really made me mad!). I especially liked the plot twists, I couldn’t predict any of them. Overall, I rate this book 5/5 stars.
