Y’know, a lot of times I look at the internet and think, maybe we shouldn’t have bothered. Maybe we should’ve just left it at phone calls. Things like 4Chan and some of the darker corners of Reddit honestly make me question why this thing exists. But then something good happens. And it’s sort of all okay for a bit.

Well, this is a story of one Overwatch player, who ended up getting an entirely new set of PC parts, after posting to the Overwatch subreddit, this:

Along with the title: “I run Overwatch on a potato so it’s hard to get a good potg (Play of the Game), but when I do it is satisfying.”

Within minutes, Overwatch’s legendary community banded together, and talked specs, offering up their unused CPUs, processors, graphics cards, and anything that might help Ethan play on something better than 800×600, with all the settings on low.

“I’m at a loss for words,” Ethan says. “Watching a community band together just to help one person, if this all works out and I end up getting this new PC I’ll probably break down crying.”

Ethan’s biggest expenditure will be Windows 10, as everything else has been taken care of.

Good on you, /r/Overwatch. Good on you.
