A Week Of West

Last week was an eventful week for Kanye West, which saw him trending online almost daily. So what exactly happened? Here is our summary.

On Sunday, Kanye released the track list for SWISH as previously reported here. On Tuesday Ye went on to announce that SWISH was being renamed WAVES and would be the ‘album of life’.

 

The renaming of WAVES  was somewhat controversial and Wiz Khalifi took to Twitter complaining that Kanye was stealing ‘the wave’ which is a style of music started by rapper Max B.

However things didn’t really kick off until Wiz tweeted about kk, a form of marijuana, which Ye mistook for his wife KK. And so Ye unleashed hell on Wiz:

However, despite all the insults, Kanye gave Wiz credit where he thought it was due:

Aside from tearing into Wiz, Kanye once again showed his misogynistic attitude towards women when referring to his ex-girlfriend and Wiz’s ex-wife as property:

Kanye was then shown the error of his ways, and realised that kk was not a Kim Kardashian reference. So he finished his rant, tweeting:

It’s interesting to see what effect this will have on Wiz and Kanye’s album sales, given that they are both due for release in February.
