Passing your theory test is vital in order to get your driving license, and you must succeed before you can even take your practical test. No matter how good you are at driving, you must be just as clued up on all the rules and regulations of the road. This can be difficult as there is a lot to learn, but it is most definitely possible if you just put some hard work into it.

Make sure that you know the facts. In order to pass your theory test, you need to get 43/50 on the question part and 44/70 on the Hazard Perception part. When the test begins, instructions will appear on the screen. It is important to read these carefully and ensure that you know exactly what to do. If you need assistance at any point, just raise your hand.

However, remember that preparation is key. As soon as you decide that you want to learn how to drive, pick up a copy of the Highway Code – it’s only a couple of pound and you can find it in most book shops or online. This contains absolutely everything that you could possibly need to know as a driver, so if you read through this regularly as well as practiving driving then you will have a great chance of succeeding.

One of the best ways to practice for your theory test is searching online for some mock tests. There are some great websites which will give you a feel for the real thing. If you take these tests time and time again, you will not only realise what else you need to revise but it is also likely that some of the questions on your real theory will be very similar, or even the same. So, don’t be lazy, and give it a go.

It may also be helpful to speak to others who have taken their theory and get advice from them. It’s always nice to feel reassured by someone you know.

Most importantly, just relax and try your best. If you pass your test then great, well done! If not, you can take another test once you’ve practiced a little bit more so don’t worry.
