Yes, yes and more yes.

Let’s be honest, Suicide Squad could have been better. The story was a little weak, and everything felt a little redundant. Plus the annoying portrayal of the Joker by Jared Leto left the movie feeling kind of… off?

But there may be a saving grace.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there could be a film on the way involving the Gotham City Sirens. The Sirens are Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Harley Quinn, and they become pseudo-heroes. It’s a funny series of comics, as the characters really grow into their own. Harley becomes independent, Catwoman learns to be the good guy and Ivy gets really gay and it’s wonderful. Seriously.

The film would be produced and directed by David Ayer, who did Suicide Squad, and the screenplay would be done by Geneva Robertson-Dworet, who served as a writer on the upcoming third Sherlock Holmes movie and the reboot of Tomb Raider.

It’d be really cool to see the Sirens on the big screen. I’m sure a number of us would love to see the bits where Harley deals with her past, and kicks the absolute snot out of the Joker. A story of her overcoming her abuser of previous years, and finding companionship with some of the other misguided women in the DC universe would definitely be worth a look.

Will Smith will also be getting a spin-off Deadshot film at some point but no details have been confirmed yet.
