Anthony Joshua defends his crowns

This Saturday Anthony Joshua will defend his IBF, IBO and WBA heavyweight title against Carlos Takam in Cardiff. This is Joshua’s first fight since beating now retired former heavyweight world champion Vladimir Klitschko in April. He will fight the Cameroonian- French boxer aged 36 who has won 36 out of 39 with 27 knockouts. This means that Takam is the more experienced fighter however this never stopped Joshua before.

The Watford born fighter has won 19 out his 19 professional fights with all of them ending in a knockout. Takam could cause an upset by ending this streak because Joshua prepared to fight Kubrat Pulev but he pulled out of the fight last minute because of a shoulder injury. This means that Joshua needed a swift change of tactics in order to face
his new opponent due to the fact Takam is in totally different physical shape and has a different style of boxing.

On the other hand, Joshua stated how he would not change the style of boxing from his win against Klitschko. The fans believe Takam has no chance of beating Joshua because of the quality of his live workout on Wednesday because the fighter seemed tired 15 minutes into the session. While Takam has neither the power or stamina to beat Joshua
the fighter is confident he will shock the world and knock out Anthony Joshua.

To be honest, I’m on the side of the majority of boxing lovers, I just can’t see Joshua losing with his ability. I think if Joshua could beat Klitschko he will have no problem with Takam but I am ready to be proven wrong. We all love a good underdog story and one could be written on Saturday night.

Prediction: Joshua to knockout Takam in the 3 rd round of the fight.
