The BAFTAS 2015 took place on Sunday night at London’s Royal Opera House.
The Theory of Everything star Eddie Redmayne landed the award for the best actor after beating the likes of fellow Brits Benedict Cumberbatch who plays Alan Turning in World War 2 drama The Imitation Game and Ralph Fiennes in The Grand Budapest Hotel, as well as being up against Michael Keaton and Jake Gyllenheal.
The Theory of Everything also won a third award for its adapted play as well as Patricia Arquette who won Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film.
This marks Eddie’s first BAFTA win in his career, he was previously nominated for Rising Star Award back in 2012. His next step is the Oscars, despite facing fierce competition there as well.
