Barclaycard Mercury Prize ‘2014 Albums of the Year’

On Wednesday 10th September, we will see the Barclaycard Mercury Prize ‘2014 Albums of the Year’ revealed at 5.30pm live from Covent Garden.The announcement is to be made by presenter and broadcaster, Alice Levine and the event will take place at theHospital Club.

The Prize is solely there to celebrate music in the UK and has a reputation for highlighting both new talent and the established artists in the industry. The shortlist of 12 albums is chosen by an independent judging panel and recognises artistic achievement across a range of music genres by British and Irish artists. Those with a UK release date between Tuesday 10th September 2013 and Monday 8th September 2014 are eligible for the shortlist.

If you want to watch full, dedicated television coverage of the event, it is broadcast on the night of Thursday 11th September on Channel 4 at 12.05am hosted by Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw. The coverage will also feature live performances and interviews with the shortlisted artists.

The overall winner of the Barclaycard Mercury Prize 2014 will be announced at the awards show at the Roundhouse on Wednesday 29th October.
