What would you do if I told you I know a free/easy/simple solution that can genuinely help our planet?

Ecosia is a search engine like Google but has a very distinct mission: plant a b**p load of trees. Developed by entrepreneurial earth-lovers, Ecosia uses adverts (like Google) to make money, which is then used to finance the planting of trees across the planet. Deforestation accounts for a huge amount of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. So, according to Natural Climate Solutions, by replanting trees and “regreening the planet”, we’d effectively be making a natural step towards a stable climate and carbon-neutral economy. Is that not a lovely concept?

So, simply add the Ecosia search bar to your browser or click here to find out more. I personally think it’s amazing that something requiring such minimal effort can result in planting trees. It even tells you how many trees you’ve planted through your searches, you old nature lover, you.

If you want to find out more here’s a member of the team explaining the work they do:

Just look at the unusual extreme weather of late, like the sky turning yellow, the fatal forest fires in both Europe and America and Hurricane Ophelia in Ireland. Combine that with news of thousands dying in floods in South Asia, as well as Hurricane Harvey in Texas, and you might realise the planet has been ‘in better nick‘.

If that isn’t enough to convince you, please, just do it for us climate change worriers!
