The British comic ability is envied around the world and here at b**p we’ve decided to give you all a glimpse of what ‘real comedy’ looks like.

Let’s go…

Big Train: Eagle Line Sketch

One of the classic sketches from one of the BBC’s best comedy sketch shows of recent memory sees a very matter-of-fact Simon Pegg attempt to explain the new (fictional) ‘Eagle Line’ railway to a naive and bewildered Amelia Bullmore.

My Blackberry is Not Working:

Infantile and cringeworthy as it seems, this sketch from ‘The One Ronnie’ proves that a humble play on words can still leave us gasping for air.

Do You Speak English?

Britons are well known all around the world for being rude and obnoxious on holiday, and it’s surprising more Frenchies don’t feel like getting their own back in this manner.

The Sheikh in The Grocery Store:

Here’s a taste of what British television was like before political correctness took hold.

World’s Worst Football Coach:

Our next sketch comes from ‘A Bit Of Fry And Laurie’ and shows the star player of the Reading Town Reserves, Dave Wilson, teaching the Great British art of diving to a gullible group of youngsters, narrated by a deadpan and fed up of his job news reporter played by the ever-witty Stephen Fry.

Blackadder is Court-Martialled:

Having inadvertently eaten General Melchett’s ‘only childhood friend’, this scene from Blackadder Goes Forth rolls everything we love about Blackadder into one – lovable character expressions, priceless wit, and downright silliness.

Elementary Dating:

A lesson in dating from Rowan Atkinson, who showcases his ability to draw hysterics from the audience without even opening his mouth.
