The Fault In Our Stars by John Green is a life-changing novel that makes you laugh, cry, dream, think and experience a new world of powerful emotions.

It is a unisex book told in the perspective of 16 year old Hazel who was diagnosed with lung cancer at 13. However when she meets Augustus Waters at a cancer support group, her life changes in an unforgettable way. Augustus is both charming and witty and unfortunately had osteosarcoma (a rare form of bone cancer) but has recently had the all clear. The reader travels with Hazel to a new world of happiness found in her deceasing heart. No words can meet to the magnitude of emotions that this book brings, as it goes from teaching about the inevitable oblivion of our world to showing the true life of a true survivor. Hilarious, moving, and deeply insightful, ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ is a must read book.

John Green’s amazing novel has now been adapted into a film, which will be coming to the UK on the 20th of June 2014.

This story was featured in our first print edition which is available now in schools and by contacting Yasmine@bringingwords.org
