Sam Smith has had to cancel the remaining dates of the Australia leg of his world tour. The reason for this is down to ‘vocal’ exhaustion, which has seen the ‘Lay Me Down’ singer develop a haemorrhage on his vocal chords.

Australian fans will be happy to know that Sam plans on rescheduling these dates at the end of the year. This will not effect , however, the Asian leg of his four, set to kick off in Tokyo on May 7th. Sam, who recently won four Grammy Awards for his In the Lonely Hour album, said in a statement,

“The doctors have told me I need to fully rest until my vocal cords have healed, otherwise this could become a huge long-term issue.”
