Having released last week, Christopher Nolan’s historic adaption Dunkirk is doing swimmingly at the box office, after coming in at number one after its first weekend. It beat Spider-Man: Homecoming which is at its second week at the box office. Not bad considering it came out of nowhere and isn’t a super-hero movie.

This is Nolan’s fourth biggest box office opening, according to Entertainment Weekly, coming after The Dark Knight Rises ($160.9 million), The Dark Knight ($158.4 million), and Inception ($62.8 million).

The rest of list is below:

  1. Dunkirk — $50.5 million
  2. Girls Trip — $30.4 million
  3. Spider-Man: Homecoming — $22 million
  4. War for the Planet of the Apes — $20.4
  5. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets — $17 million
  6. Despicable Me 3 — $12.7 million
  7. Baby Driver — $6 million
  8. The Big Sick — $ 5 million
  9. Wonder Woman — $4.6 million
  10. Wish Upon — $2.5 million

Nice to see Wonder Woman still in the list.

Over to games, Crash Bandicoot is still holding that top spot, even after Nintendo’s recent release of Splatoon 2. Nintendo, however, has a few games on the list this week, including the new Zelda and Mario Kart 8.

This list only includes physical games, however, so the sales for Splatoon 2 could well be higher than this.

Here’s the list:

  1. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
  2. Splatoon 2
  3. Grand Theft Auto V
  4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  5. Overwatch
  6. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
  7. Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
  8. FIFA 17
  9. Fallout 4
  10. Lego Worlds

That’s it for this week, see you next time for more charts and the like.
