Justin Bieber is an A-list popstar, Angelina Jolie is an A-list actress and there’s no doubt that Michael McIntyre is an A-list comedian. His frantic pacing across the stage, his constant hair shaking and his exaggerated impressions of normal things are signatures of him and his style.

Michael is nearly finished his two-year-long tour, but there’s still a chance to catch one of his shows and/or buy the DVD.

We saw him perform at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle and were pleasantly surprised to find that he geared nearly the entire performance towards the city of Newcastle. Donning a convincing Geordie accent, he took to the stage and discussed his opinions of the city. We loved his observations, especially those regarding the amount of faeces on the beach in Seaham. People with children loved his descriptions of modern life as a parent and the heavy reliance on iPads and bribery.

What we weren’t so keen on was the fact that the DVD had been recorded right at the start of the tour, so many of us – especially those of us who have Michael McIntyre on social media – had already seen snippets of the show before.

We give Michael McIntyre’s Happy and Glorious show 4 out of 5 stars.
