It’s going to be Sony central for the next 300 words or so, then we’ll be getting controllers deep into the… surprisingly (?) okay Ubisoft presentation next time. So, buckle your respective safety gear, we goin’ in.

Sony, it seems, now have a bar to set. Their conference last year was actually really damn good. They showed a bunch of new stuff, and yes, Dad of War was there this week too. But we’ll get to that in a bit. While I may not own a console, Sony and their innovations with the PS4 have been something to behold. They have been going strong with their games since its release way back when. But nothing could distract us from the absence of Bloodborne 2.

Even if you show the new Spider-Man game by Insomniac.

Okay, was anyone else expecting that to be… not as good as it actually was? Wow. QTE’s, Arkham-esque stealth sections. I’m into it. Wonder if one of my buds would let me borrow his PS4…

Then we have God of War, which we haven’t seen in a year, and man does this look gorgeous, and just as gritty as it did last year. It looks like the kid is more than just a token character.

And, which nobody expected, a complete remaster of Shadow of the Colossus, which will be out next year. If you’ve played the original I imagine it’ll play the same, however, this would be a chance for many, who didn’t play the original, to get into what is arguably one of the best titles the PS2 was ever given.

Another big surprise was Monster Hunter, which is finally coming to PC at some point next year. After years of Monster Hunter-ish games, we’re finally getting an actual game. These games were like Dark Souls before it was a thing. You slowly grind your way up to fighting these huge creatures, with even bigger weapons.

And last of all, we saw Horizon: Zero Dawn is getting an expansion, and a bit more of the illusive zombie-apocalypse style game Days Gone. Check them out below.

There’s a certain tension that Days Gone captured last year, with the swarming mass of bodies the game can hurl at you at any moment. Looks pretty good, letting you manipulate how the zombies move and where they move to. Just don’t get caught in the middle.

Oh. And ZOMBIE BEARS. WHY?

Tomorrow we’ll have Nintendo and Ubisoft!

Stay tuned.
