Disney has officially announced the entire voice cast for the reboot of the Lion King for 2019.

As rumoured a month or so ago, Beyoncé will be starring as Simba’s best mate Nala, with 12 Years a Slave actor Chiwetel Ejiofor playing the movie’s villain, Scar. John Oliver will provide the voice for Zazu, Mufasa’s overbearing right-hand bird, with Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner playing Pumbaa and Timon in that order.

Donald Glover will star as the main role, Simba.

A lot of talented actors behind the scenes here. It’s also worth mentioning that actress Alfre Woodard will also star too, alongside James Earl Jones, who voiced the OG Mufasa back in the 1990’s animated version of the film.

Lion King (2019) was written by Catch Me If You Can and Pirates of the Caribbean 5’s Jeff Nathanson. It’s directed by Jon Favreau, who was responsible for Iron Man and arguably Disney’s best live-action adaption, Jungle Book.

Should be pretty dang good if this is anything to go on.
